As the region’s leading provider of advanced telecommunications and connectivity solutions, we are investing in next-generation infrastructure; 5G, fiber expansion, subsea connectivity, and emerging technologies to power economic growth, strengthen resilience, and connect our communities to what matters most.    We are seeking a Principal Network Engineer to play a critical leadership role in shaping this future.    What You’ll Do  Shape the Future of Our Network  Lead development of a multi-year network technology roadmap across IP/MPLS, transport (DWDM), and broadband access (GPON/XGSPON/HFC)   Design and evaluate next-generation architectures including Segment Routing MPLS, EVPN, and next-gen PON   Translate business strategy into network investments, capacity planning, and infrastructure expansion   Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, and global standards (IETF, IEEE, MEF)   Drive Operational Excellence  Streamline engineering, transport, and NOC functions to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy   Establish standardized workflows, SOPs, and cross-domain operating models   Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual provisioning and improve scalability   Define and track KPIs including network availability, MTTR, and service delivery performance   Build and Develop High-Performing Teams  Mentor and develop engineers across IP, transport, and access domains   Design structured technical training programs and competency frameworks   Foster a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement   Serve as a senior escalation point and technical authority   Ensure Network Stability & Performance  Oversee design, deployment, and optimization of carrier-grade network infrastructure   Support enterprise and wholesale services including DIA, Metro Ethernet, and wavelength services   Provide governance over major network changes and architecture decisions   Collaborate across teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing network operations    Who We’re Looking For  We are looking for a senior technical and strategic leader responsible for defining the long-term evolution of our network infrastructure while driving operational excellence across engineering teams. We are looking for an individual with:  Experience operating in island or geographically distributed network environments   Knowledge of subsea cable systems and international connectivity   Strong ability to connect technical strategy with business outcomes   Passion for building teams and developing future leaders    Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field   10+ years of progressive experience in telecom or service provider environments   Professional Engineering license (or equivalent) preferred   Certifications such as CCIE or CCNP-SP highly valued    What You Bring  Experience & Leadership  Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams   Track record of driving organizational transformation and operational efficiency   Experience in service delivery across voice, video, data, and wireless platforms   Technical Expertise  Advanced knowledge of IP/MPLS (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN, Segment Routing)   Strong experience with transport technologies (DWDM, Carrier Ethernet, SONET/SDH)   Hands-on expertise in broadband access (GPON, XGSPON, xDSL)   Experience with multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent, Ciena, Arista)   Familiarity with network monitoring tools and automation frameworks    Work Schedule  This is a full-time role, with occasional flexibility based on department and company needs.    Why You’ll Love It Here  Join us to be at the forefront of transforming connectivity across Guam and the CNMI, lead critical infrastructure that supports economic growth and national security, collaborate within a global network of innovation through our partnership with NTT Docomo, and make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
