This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced cloud engineering professional to lead the design and evolution of large-scale AWS infrastructure supporting mission-critical enterprise systems. In this role, you will shape cloud architecture strategy, drive modernization initiatives, and influence engineering best practices across a complex technology environment. You will collaborate closely with platform, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native solutions. The position combines deep technical leadership with hands-on engineering, offering the chance to mentor senior engineers and guide high-impact transformation projects. Ideal candidates are strategic problem-solvers with extensive AWS expertise and a passion for operational excellence. This fully remote role provides the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to innovative, enterprise-level cloud initiatives.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance AWS cloud architectures supporting enterprise and mission-critical applications.
- Lead complex cloud engineering initiatives, including migrations, modernization programs, and cloud-native solution development.
- Define and maintain cloud engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices across infrastructure, automation, networking, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud solutions with business goals, scalability requirements, and operational priorities.
- Architect secure, highly available, and resilient cloud environments that meet compliance and regulatory standards.
- Partner with security and risk teams to implement strong identity management, encryption, monitoring, disaster recovery, and governance controls.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while reviewing designs to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
- Evaluate emerging AWS technologies and recommend services that improve platform performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, observability, incident response improvements, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure architecture, or related technical domains.
- Extensive hands-on expertise designing, deploying, and operating AWS environments at enterprise scale.
- Deep understanding of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, identity management, security, and platform services.
- Proven experience leading complex cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud networking, enterprise architecture, and systems integration principles.
- Advanced understanding of cloud security best practices, compliance frameworks, and operational resilience strategies.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- AWS Professional or Specialty certifications are highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
