Job Description:
CaVU is seeking a mid to senior level engineer in an advance lab environment to provide end-to-end support from RF to COMSEC to network for PMA-268 in support of the MQ-25 Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) program through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk/opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting systems engineering efforts on complex technical programs.
- Wireless and Satellite Communication ground system related products
- RF Communications
- Satcom ground system RF and communication products and services
- Satcom ground system architecture
- Understanding of software architecture, requirements-driven design, and development/testing processes.
- Experience assisting with architecture documentation and tracking of fielded and planned capabilities.
- Familiarity with enterprise or system-of-systems concepts and interface management.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration and delivery objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and supporting stakeholder coordination.
- Strong analytical skills to provide in-depth technical analysis and research of prevailing government documentation.
- Ability to identify COMSEC incidents, Practices Dangerous to Security (PDS) and the potential for such insecurities.
- Ability to maintain high quality work to manage critical projects.
- Ability to provide fill device application and end unit interface training and troubleshooting expertise to end users.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documents and procedures.
- Ability to communicate technical information professionally to multiple stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge of shipboard networks, including Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) and its associated components.
- Familiar with military communication standards and protocols
- Expertise with network management tools and software
- Understanding of RF principles and propagation
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to devise unconventional solutions
- Experience with satellite communication systems and equipment
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- CompTIA Security + CE as required per DoD 8140 certification.
- CCNA required
- CCNP desired
Responsibilities:
- Interface with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, ITT and customer Flight Engineers, aircraft maintenance Technicians, US Navy service members, and Subsystem SMEs to sustain operations.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within the Navy's chain of command and enhance cross-functional coordination across diverse organizations, including NAVAIR and NAVWAR program offices.
- Cross-Functional Team Support: Support cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and IT specialists to successfully integrate emerging technologies.
- Understanding of modern digital ecosystems and their application within a military framework. Experience with the Navy's digital transformation initiatives and impact on fleet capabilities.
- Contributes to the development and execution of training programs for future fleet system, ensuring shipboard and command personnel are proficient in the operational capabilities being fielded.
- Plan and execute SOVT and DT&E network events; author test plans/procedures, conduct packet analysis/throughput testing, and support TRR readiness
Comprehensive Compensation & Benefits Package:
Salary at CaVU is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, training, certificates, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 To drive fair pay practices for employees, CaVU conducts regular comparisons across our employee groups and the industry. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, CaVU considers a number of factors when determining salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
