Full job details

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of unclassified, CUI, and classified data and information systems using Air Force approved network engineering practices, information security standards, approved industry best practices, and by employing approved new technologies.
  • Define requirements, plan, design, and oversee development of secure, scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures to meet Eglin Test and Training Range (EGTTR) current and future test and training objectives.
  • Define requirements, design, implement, and oversee continuous monitoring and maintenance of network security architecture, Real-Time simulation systems support, and operations support for WIFI, fiberoptic, ethernet, SATCOM, and microwave assets.
  • Design, develop, implement, and oversee operations and reporting for network defense capabilities and incident response policy and processes.
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with stakeholders on network optimization.
  • Assess network security and operations architecture for cybersecurity compliance, and operational efficiency and effectiveness. Report compliance and performance metrics to squadron leaders.
  • Define and document squadron network cybersecurity, system engineering, access control, communications, configuration control, and change management policy, standards, and processes. Participate as a Configuration Control Board (CCB) member by assessing network change requests and providing approval recommendations to the government.
  • Assist the Program Manager and Information System Security Manager in developing, documenting, and reporting data and artifacts in support of Interim Authority to Test and Authorization to Operate requirements/decisions.
  • Coordinate and implement EGTTR network Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) alignment, agreements, and reporting processes.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold an active DoD Top Secret Clearance or a Secret clearance with a completed SSBI within the last 6 years.
  • Experience in Network engineering/administration, and secured Data transmission.
  • Experience with Current Operations & Network Design.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, etc.)
  • Maintains DoD 8140 certifications in the following environments: CCNA and SEC+
  • US Citizenship required.

Desired Requirements:

  • Familiar with the specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines. 
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Windows Hyper-V 
  • Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Cross-Domain Solutions, Data Diodes, etc.
  • Maintains DoD 8140 certifications in the following environments: CCNP Route/Switch, CCNP-Voice, CCNP-Security, CISSP, or other networking and/or cybersecurity related certifications.
