PCI is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Technical Operations team. This is a highly accountable, client-facing role responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving network environments across a multi-tenant managed services model.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a builder mindset, and the ability to create scalable, repeatable solutions across diverse client environments. The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and comfortable owning network outcomes from design through support and optimization.

What You’ll Do
As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering secure, reliable, and standardized network solutions for both internal and client environments. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing LAN, WAN, wireless, segmentation, and hybrid-cloud network solutions
- Supporting and optimizing firewalls, switches, wireless platforms, VPNs, and secure remote access tools
- Troubleshooting network performance issues including routing, DNS, latency, and packet loss
- Managing escalated incidents and driving issues through resolution with clear communication and follow-through
- Developing network standards, templates, runbooks, and documentation to improve consistency and scale
- Supporting onboarding, infrastructure changes, upgrades, lifecycle planning, and long-term supportability
- Partnering with internal teams and clients to align technical solutions with business needs
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing environments and drive standardization where appropriate
- Participating in a rotating after-hours support and maintenance schedule
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless, and firewall concepts
- Experience with network security platforms and readiness to work within standard firewall technologies, such as Palo Alto and Sophos
- Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and own issues through completion
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and client-facing skills
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or equivalent practical expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting network solutions across multiple client environments, ideally in an MSP or fast-paced service model
- Experience with Azure networking, VPN Gateway, and hybrid connectivity
- Familiarity with monitoring and visibility tools such as Auvik
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity environments
- Experience with scripting, automation, APIs, or templating to improve repeatability and scale
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

- Location: Buffalo, NY (hybrid)
- Work Environment: Professional office and IT environment, with occasional travel to client sites for on-site support and deployments
- Other Expectations: Reliable high-speed internet and a smartphone are required for authentication and on-call support
- Compensation Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annual salary
