Job Description:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Network Administration 

- Maintain and support Cisco-based network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls 

- Configure VLANs, routing, and segmentation for both IT and manufacturing environments 

- Support LAN/WAN connectivity across multiple sites and buildings 

- Monitor network performance and ensure uptime across production and office environments 

Physical Infrastructure & Deployment 

- Install, rack, and stack network equipment such as switches, firewalls, and patch panels 

- Run, terminate, and test network cabling (Cat6, fiber) in office and plant environments 

- Perform cable management, labeling, and organization within MDF/IDF closets 

- Work in industrial environments including production floors, ceilings, and network closets 

Monitoring and Troubleshooting 

- Monitor network systems for performance issues or outages 

- Troubleshoot connectivity issues including switching, routing, and physical layer problems 

- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis 

Security and Compliance 

- Maintain network security controls including firewalls and segmentation 

- Support vulnerability remediation and security initiatives 

- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and standards 

Collaboration and Communication 

- Work with Systems Administration and Deskside Support teams on cross-functional issues 

- Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and Cisco TAC for issue resolution 

Documentation and Continuous Improvement 

- Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation 

- Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts 

Qualifications 

Required 

- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience 

- 3+ years of network administration experience 

- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment 

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP 

- Experience with Windows environments and Active Directory 

Preferred 

- Cisco certification (CCNA or CCNP) 

- Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments 

- Experience with fiber networking and structured cabling 

Working Conditions 

- Work performed in both office and manufacturing floor environments 

- May require lifting up to 40 lbs and working in confined spaces or equipment closets 

- Occasional after-hours work for maintenance or incident response
