Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a Mobile Lab Test Engineer to support 5G/LTE and NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) / Satellite validation in controlled lab environments. This role focuses on RF testing, protocol validation, log analysis, and system integration using industry-standard test equipment and tools.
You will work closely with R&D and carrier teams to validate device performance, network behavior, and feature functionality across 3GPP-based cellular and satellite systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform lab-based testing for 5G NR, LTE, 3G, and NTN/satellite networks
  • Execute RF, protocol, and performance testing (throughput, latency, call scenarios)
  • Set up and configure lab test environments using RF equipment and network simulators
  • Operate and manage test systems and tools:
    • Spirent, Keysight, R&S (Rohde & Schwarz), Anritsu, Anite
  • Capture and analyze logs using QXDM, QPST, XCAL/XCAP, Shannon DM
  • Troubleshoot VoLTE/VoNR, data connectivity, signaling, and protocol issues
  • Perform protocol stack analysis aligned with 3GPP standards
  • Validate software/modem updates, patches, and new feature implementations
  • Conduct packet-level analysis using Wireshark (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases (devices, configurations, KPIs)
  • Document results and produce clear technical reports
  • Collaborate with R&D, QA, and carrier labs to resolve defects and improve performance
  • Support field testing activities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience in lab testing / RF testing / telecom testing
  • Strong knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, WCDMA/UMTS, GSM
  • Working knowledge of NTN / satellite communications concepts (LEO/GEO, latency, coverage)
  • Experience with RF test equipment (Spirent, Keysight, R&S, Anritsu, Anite)
  • Experience with log analysis tools (QXDM, QPST, XCAL, Shannon DM or similar)
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, OSI model)
  • Experience with Android device testing and mobile software validation
  • Familiarity with VoLTE/VoNR, data testing, and KPI validation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 3GPP Release 17+ NTN standards or Direct-to-Device (D2D)
  • Knowledge of 5G protocol stack (PHY, MAC, RRC, NAS signaling)
  • Experience in carrier certification or device validation labs
  • Familiarity with Wireshark, GNSS/GPS, RF propagation concepts
  • Basic scripting (Python, ADB, Shell) for test automation
  • Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth coexistence testing

Work Environment

  • Primarily lab-based testing with controlled network and RF conditions
  • Hands-on work with RF equipment, network simulators, and mobile devices
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend testing based on project needs

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a lab environment with test equipment and hardware setups
  • Basic understanding of system integration and test configuration management
