Manufacturing Quality Engineer

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager. They will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality within manufacturing operations at Qualitrol, driving continuous improvement, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements. You will actively participate in defect prevention, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions while working cross-functionally to improve product reliability and manufacturability.

Manufacturing Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain PFMEA and control plans
  • Perform workstation and process audits
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and NPI validation
  • Investigate internal & external quality issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive the CAPA process (8D, 5-Why)
  • Manage the shop floor NCR process.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve FPY
  • Collaborate with supplier quality and design engineering teams to communicate systemic continuous improvement needs in the upstream processes.
  • Support customer quality requirements and reporting
  • Participate in daily management and Gemba activities to monitor work-cell level quality performance and communicate customer issues related to the work cell.

Quality Systems & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Maintain proper document control and process traceability
  • Generate and report applicable quality KPIs

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or process engineering
  • Experience with PFMEA / DFMEA and control plans
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools (8D, 5-Why)
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
  •

Majority of spent on the manufacturing floor
