Overview
We are seeking an experienced Linux/Systems Administrator to join our team and take responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our Linux-based and Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux system administration, including configuring and installing hardware and software, utilizing monitoring technologies, and ensuring the operational health of our infrastructure. Position must be onsite in Colorado Springs.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure Linux and Windows operating systems and applications, setup users environment and project directories, utilizing monitoring tools to troubleshoot and sustaining the operational health of the infrastructure
- Install and configure Linux and Windows Remote desktop servers, maintain and monitor users’ desktop sessions, troubleshoot users project environment and workspaces
- Managing storage arrays and data switches, provisioning storage volumes, monitoring capacity and performance, managing data backup, and performing routine maintenance including firmware upgrade, patching and troubleshooting storage-related issues
- Install CAD software and license managers on Linux and Windows servers, manage user permissions and license access, maintain license services and monitor license usage
- Maintain RedHat satellite server, manage subscriptions, security patches and updates
- Maintaining accurate documentation regarding system configurations, procedures, and inventory
- Work closely with service delivery team to provide helpdesk support to end users
- Identify areas requiring improvement, and seek out and recommend new solutions
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Linux system administration.
- OR (9) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
- OR No experience required in lieu of Masters Degree.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems and applications, installation, configuration, networking, debugging and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows operating systems and applications, installation, configuration, networking, debugging and troubleshooting
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible and scripting languages such as Bash and Python
- Strong knowledge of network protocols NFS, CIFS, SMB, DNS, LDAP, SNMP
- Experience with RedHat satellite server, repository builds, and management.
- Experience with Kickstart and PXE boot provisioning and management.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
- Pay Range: $96,000 - $120,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
