The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is a senior-level professional responsible for leading and overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's infrastructure systems. They provide expert guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to the team, ensuring the company's infrastructure's reliability, scalability, and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions, including network architecture, server configurations, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Lead collaborating sessions with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead sessions with cross-functional teams to review performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization of infrastructure systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect infrastructure systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage and optimize cloud-based infrastructure services like AWS, GCP and Azure to ensure cost-effectiveness and scalability.
  • Automating infrastructure deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or CISD.
  • Lead collaborating sessions with DevOps teams to integrate infrastructure-as-code practices and ensure seamless deployment and continuous integration.
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in infrastructure management and recommending improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience. Computer Science or Computer Engineering Preferred.

Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification. 

Experience: 5+ years of relevant and practical experience in infrastructure management, network administration, or system engineering.

Special Skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages
  • Extensive experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server Operating system, Active Directory and SCCM.
  • Extensive Server Hardware experience such as Dell and Dell OME
  • Thorough knowledge of security protocols and best practices.

  • Mentoring: Mentoring and coaching of junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities for infrastructure planning.
  • Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities for complex infrastructure challenges.

  • Conflict Resolution: Addressing and resolving team conflicts and technical disagreements.
