Petro-Hunt, L.L.C, a Dallas, Texas mid-sized independent Oil and Gas Exploration Company, is seeking a Help Desk Technician for its Uptown Dallas office.

Our company traces its roots to the 1920s, when the legendary H.L. Hunt entered the oil and gas business in El Dorado, Arkansas, and later played an active role in developing the East Texas Oil Field from the drill test of the Daisy Bradford #3.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Windows environments, Active Directory administration, desktop hardware, printers, scanners, VoIP systems, and conference room technologies. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong customer service abilities, and experience supporting executive-level users.

Key Responsibilities:

End User Support

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, mobile device, and peripheral issues.
  • Respond to service desk tickets, emails, phone calls, and walk-up requests in a timely manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and related hardware.

Active Directory & User Administration

  • Create, modify, disable, and manage user accounts in Active Directory.
  • Manage user permissions, group memberships, password resets, and account access requests.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees.

Software Installation & Updates

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot business applications and operating systems.
  • Deploy software updates, security patches, and system upgrades as required.
  • Maintain software licensing and ensure systems remain compliant and up to date.

Hardware & Peripheral Support

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain printers, scanners, and other office technology.
  • Diagnose hardware failures and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment.

Conference Room & Meeting Technology Support

  • Set up and support conference rooms, meeting spaces, and presentation technology.
  • Troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, displays, video conferencing systems, and connectivity issues.
  • Ensure conference room equipment is functional and ready for executive and departmental meetings.

VoIP & Telecommunications Support

  • Support and troubleshoot VoIP phone systems and related communication technologies.
  • Assist with phone provisioning, user moves/adds/changes, and call routing issues.
  • Coordinate with telecommunications vendors when necessary.

Workstation Deployment & Physical Setup

  • Configure and deploy new workstations, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Perform physical workstation installations, including desk arm mounts and ergonomic setup adjustments.
  • Ensure professional cable management and clean workspace organization.
  • Support office moves, workstation relocations, and departmental reconfigurations.

Executive Support

  • Provide white-glove IT support to executive leadership and C-level staff.
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and urgency when supporting sensitive business functions.
  • Ensure executive technology systems are functioning optimally before meetings and presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support experience.
  • Experience administering and supporting Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
  • Experience installing software, operating system updates, and security patches.
  • Hands-on experience supporting conference room technology and audiovisual equipment.
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems and telecommunications support.
  • Ability to physically install and configure workstation equipment, monitor mounts, and cable management solutions.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting executive and C-level users in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, Modern Desktop Administrator, or related certifications.
  • Experience with ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and Exchange Online.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
