Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – Flexible to the needs of the program

 

Qualifications - Associate Degree in Computer related field of study with 1-3 years’ work experience in IT field. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Must be able to lift/push/pull/move items up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to travel and to work extended hours as needed. Must be able to meet deadlines. Valid New York State Driver’s License.   

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance – Authorized to work in the United States.

 

Summary/Objective - Perform routine installations, project management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all agency IT equipment, including, but not limited to: servers, PCs, telephone systems, copiers, cable, and network equipment as assigned by the CIO. Install/upgrade agency IT infrastructure, hardware, and software as assigned by the CIO.

 

Essential Functions –

  1. Complete work requirements in the above functional areas, at all facilities operated by The Arc Jefferson-St. Lawrence
  2. Recommendation to supervisor regarding preventative maintenance, installation of equipment, equipment purchase and replacement.
  3. Review and recommend as appropriate new technologies. Stay on top of industry standards.
  4. Maintain positive relationships with vendors while purchasing supplies, materials, services, and equipment.
  5. Undertake special assignments and other duties as assigned by the CIO.
  6. Assist in the development of inventory, materials, supplies, and equipment to accomplish duties.
  7. Perform duties as the IT Manager in the event of their absence.
  8. Attend and satisfactorily complete all required in-services.

Supervisory Responsibility – None.

 

Travel – Travel as needed between both counties

 

Work Environment - This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 50 pounds.
