- The IT Specialist SysAdmin PD Tier IV at UNITED STATES AGENCY FOR GLOBAL MEDIA will be responsible for managing and maintaining complex IT systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced system issues, supporting the agency's mission to deliver accurate and comprehensive news and information globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer advanced IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular system monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system operations and network connectivity.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to develop and implement system enhancements and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and industry standards for IT security and data protection.
- Provide Tier IV support for escalated technical issues, offering expert guidance and solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and processes.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, contributing technical expertise and leadership.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve system operations and capabilities.
QualificationsRequired Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on IT infrastructure and operations.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining complex IT systems and networks.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving system issues in a timely manner.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
