Our onboarding includes an orientation program with ongoing training to help staff further their career at BHFCU by building on their existing strengths.   General Purpose:  Responsible for assisting the IT Services Manager in maintaining the in-house computer system and Credit Union's network of personal computers.  Responsible for the execution of standardized programs and completing assigned procedures   Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Provide coverage and technical support for Corporate and Branch users as directed by IT Services Manager. Develop and maintain scripts and programs that automate repetitive tasks and data transfer in the IT Department. Perform system administrator functions on credit union servers . Responsible for identifying, resolving and documenting all computer-related problems that may occur during the operator's operational shift. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping and equipment maintenance as needed or scheduled by the IT Services Manager. Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain PCs, network printers, multi-function devices, and other computer peripheral equipment. Remain current on present and new technologies as well as research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge. Provide guidance and training to technicians as directed.   Other Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for performing preventive maintenance procedures for computers as instructed.  Prepare standardized reports as directed. Assist supporting employees in the use of personal computers and software, in a timely manner and with little assistance. Assist in the installation of computer program patches, releases, and fixes as directed/scheduled by the IT Services Manager Assist Credit Union staff in using the computer system. Assist the I.T. staff in the installation of PCs/peripherals. Serve as primary maintainer of one major Credit Union computer systems. Research, plan, and oversee implementation on three IT projects, as lead IT member. Perform other duties as may be assigned by IT Services Manager.   Job Knowledge: Working knowledge of Credit Union's in-house computer system. Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and Credit Union's service philosophy. Working knowledge of Credit Union's personal computers, networks, and accompanying software. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and develop solutions. Ability to install/maintain computer equipment and associated equipment. Ability to create and manage Active Directory accounts. Ability to configure/manage servers in VMware or other virtualization technology.   Job Qualifications (Education/Experience/Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Ability) - Job Levels: IT Specialist I Job requires a two-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.  One to three years of experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable.  Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.  Thorough knowledge and understanding of personal computer software, MS Windows operating systems.   IT Specialist II Meets all requirements for an IT Specialist I. Three to five years’ experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable, preferably in the help desk environment.  Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.    Senior IT Specialist Meets all requirements for an IT Specialist II. Five or more years of experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable.  CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent certification is preferred. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education. Time Management: Ability to independently meet and set deadlines. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and use appropriate authority. Research skills: ability to research and determine root causes of complex issues.   Working Conditions: Material and Equipment Involved In-House Computer System / Internet                 VMWare Virtual Environment LANS and WANs Telecommunication equipment Computer Networks Slack Webex Various Software Applications   Work Environment/Physical Activities Occasional travel to one of BHFCU’s branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.   Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.   Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.   Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform complex mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
