Role:
Provides a secure and reliable infrastructure for the Credit Union to operate within. Installs, maintains, updates, configures, and secures: Network infrastructures, firewalls, servers, SAN, networking hardware, backups, software, and support documentation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Design, install, configure, maintain, update, troubleshoot, and test: Servers, SAN, Routers, and related networking equipment. Evaluate and make recommendations for hardware and software upgrades and purchases.

Perform regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and remediate vulnerabilities on firewalls, systems, software, and network infrastructure.

Design configure and maintain MFA, Microsoft Active Directory, identity providers, SSO, DLP, VMWare/Hyper-V, email, certificates, group policy, and cloud tenants.

Install, configure, and maintain: IPS/IDS, Firewall, Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Malware, SIEM, VPN, and related equipment for maximum protection.

Create IT documentation to facilitate installation, configuration, training, and maintenance of equipment and software.

On call availability for after-hours support, configuration, updates, and maintenance.

Perform advanced user administration and technical support to Credit Union staff and members.

Ensure all firmware, servers, SAN, and related equipment is fully patched.

Maintain and configure data backups. Maintain, update, and test every aspect of business continuity, hardware, and software.

Configure and audit internal and cloud filesharing, permissions and security for least privilege. Use automation tools to streamline the automation of common tasks and processes.

Complete log reviews and checklists. Review logs for anomalies for potential security violations and system errors. Maintain records of maintenance and virus checks.

Notify IT Management of all unusual or recurring problems, outages, security issues, and unmitigated risk.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Prefer a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or computer related field. Certifications in Microsoft, Fortinet, and Certified IT Specialist are preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Must be able to maintain confidential data.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
May be exposed to moderate noise levels, dust, and varying temperatures in server rooms, network closets, buildings, or outdoors.
Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl under desks, and climb ladders or step stools to access and install equipment.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, install, and configure small components, cables, and tools.
Capable of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, especially during system deployments or troubleshooting sessions.
Must be able to read and interpret technical documentation, computer screens, and small print on hardware components.
Work Environment
Must be available for on call after-hours support, configuration, and maintenance.
Must work as a part of the Disaster Recovery Team.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Must be able to travel to any EFCU location or disaster recovery datacenter as needed.
Highly dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. Must be able to prioritize, pivot, manage multiple tasks, and respond quickly to urgent technical issues.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing.
Upgrades of hardware and software are often required to be accomplished over weekends or during the early morning hours.
Must respond at any hour to resolve system problems. Typically, on-call 24 hours, 7 days a week, to include weekends and holidays.
