Block 23What you'll do:
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the delivery, support, enhancement, and strategic roadmap of the organization's Varicent platform within the HR Technology ecosystem. As Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or two functional areas/domains on the system processes and structures that support multiple technology disciplines. This role will serve as the primary technology leader responsible for the administration, integration, optimization, and ongoing evolution of Varicent and related compensation, incentive management, and workforce planning capabilities. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Human Resources, Compensation, Payroll, Finance, Sales Operations, Enterprise Data teams, and external vendors to ensure the platform effectively supports business objectives while maintaining operational excellence.In this role, you'll manage mid-size teams that deliver functional projects on time and on budget while driving platform modernization, process automation, and integration initiatives across the enterprise. Additionally, you'll collaborate with internal business partners to proactively address ongoing customer needs and ensure rapid resolution to open issues. In this role you'll foster a collaborative environment with focus on continuous improvement and delivery of working software. As an IT Manager, you'll assist IT leadership with the delivery of products and services as well as evaluating technology and setting standards. Additionally, you'll recommend improvements to established business processes while continuing to deliver high value in execution. You'll help create and deliver project plans, remove any impediments, and track overall project performance to analyze the successful completion of business short-term and long-term goals.
- Serve as the technology owner for the Varicent platform, responsible for strategy, roadmap, governance, and ongoing platform optimization.
- Lead a team of analysts, developers, and support resources while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage application enhancements, releases, vendor relationships, budgets, and project delivery to ensure business objectives are met.
- Oversee the configuration, administration, testing, deployment, and support of Varicent and related compensation management capabilities.
- Drive automation and process improvements for incentive compensation, workforce planning, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Design and manage integrations between Varicent and enterprise platforms including Workday, payroll systems, data warehouses, financial systems, identity management, and analytics solutions.
- Establish data governance, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
- Develop and maintain operational support models, SLAs, documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and platform health metrics.
- Analyze a variety of data and summarize findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums. Utilize data to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth by collaborating with business and tech leads.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, privacy, and regulatory requirements while partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams to maintain effective controls. Implement safety procedures and data recovery plans. Develop user manuals, as well as policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Work with IT Leadership in employee development, retention, resource planning, talent management, performance management, and achieve a diverse and engaged workforce as well as recruit, train, and evaluate staff member’s work.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing IT Development and Support for enterprise applications.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting or administering Varicent, incentive compensation management systems, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Previous leadership experience managing technical teams, vendors, consultants, or project resources.
- Experience delivering enterprise technology projects and managing application roadmaps.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of Varicent administration and configuration, Data integrations and ETL processes, SQL and reporting technologies, HR and Compensation business processes, & Enterprise application support and operations
- Experience with Workday integrations APIs and middleware platforms, Data Warehousing and Analytics solutions, Change management and release processes
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence decisions across multiple business areas.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting HR technology platforms such as Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, or related HR applications.
- Knowledge of compensation planning, incentive management, sales performance management, and workforce planning processes.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Experience leading cloud-based application modernization initiatives. Intermediate to advanced experience in managing mid-sized technology team within multiple functional areas while ensuring highest quality delivery of complex products or services.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with the execution KPIs and meeting timelines.
- Agile, Scrum, or project management certifications are preferred.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 25% travel.
