Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: 2201 N Field St Dallas TX 75201 - Dallas, TX 75201Position Type: Part TimeWe are seeking a customer-focused IT Help Desk Support - Part Time to provide front-line technology support to staff across the Perot Museum. Reporting to the Director of IT and working closely with the rest of the IT department for day-to-day direction and escalation, this part-time role serves as the first point of contact for day-to-day technology issues including desktop, device, and general SaaS support ensuring staff across all departments can rely on their technology to do their jobs.
This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys hands-on problem solving and direct interaction with people, and who is looking to build a foundation in systems administration and infrastructure support. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the museum's operating schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Desk & Ticket Management
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day technology support requests from all staff.
Follow established procedures for incident intake, triage, and escalation to appropriate team members.
Desktop & Device Support
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and desk phones.
Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of hardware for staff.
Support basic software installation and configuration following department guidelines.
Point-of-Sale & Business Systems Support
Provide front-line support for point-of-sale (POS) systems used in guest-services.
Assist staff with basic issues in the donor/CRM database and ticketing platform, escalating configuration or data issues as needed.
Account & Access Support
Assist with account setup, password resets, and basic access requests.
Support onboarding and offboarding tasks including device provisioning and return.
Documentation & Inventory
Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues.
Assist with tracking IT equipment inventory as devices are deployed, moved, or retired.
Supervisory Responsibilites: None.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of customer service or technical support experience (help desk, retail technology, or similar).
Basic understanding of Windows desktop environments and common office software.
Strong customer service orientation with clear, patient communication skills.
Ability to work a flexible, part-time schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on museum operating hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or certification in progress toward CompTIA A+ or similar.
Experience with ticketing systems, point-of-sale systems, or CRM platforms.
Familiarity with mobile device management and basic networking concepts.
Interest in pursuing a long-term career path in IT systems administration or infrastructure support.
Soft Skills

Stand and move throughout the museum, including public and back-of-house areas.
Use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
Communicate by telephone, email, and other Perot Museum communication platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee must occasionally:
Lift and/or move equipment and materials of up to 30 lbs.
Be exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasional fumes or airborne particles when assisting with equipment setup and support.
