IT Engineer
Ionic Digital is looking for an IT Engineer to help support the technology environment that keeps our employees connected, productive, and secure. This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional who enjoys hands-on support, problem solving, device management, Microsoft 365 administration, and helping employees get the most out of their technology tools.
Key responsibilities include responding to help desk requests, supporting new hire onboarding and employee offboarding, administering routine Microsoft 365 tasks, preparing and managing company laptops, maintaining IT asset inventory, documenting repeatable processes, and helping improve IT operations as the Company grows.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support to employees across hardware, software, account access, connectivity, conferencing tools, printers, peripherals, and business applications.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for help desk requests and deliver clear, responsive, and service-oriented support.
- Troubleshoot common technical issues and escalate more complex matters while helping drive issues to resolution.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, license assignments, password resets, MFA support, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes.
- Assist with secure access and identity-related processes in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Prepare laptops and accounts for new hires and help ensure employees have the tools, access, and orientation needed to be productive on day one.
- Support offboarding processes, including access removal, account disablement, device recovery, checklist completion, and related documentation.
- Track company laptops and related equipment, including assigned devices, spares, repairs, replacements, returns, and decommissioned assets.
- Prepare, image, configure, ship, retrieve, refresh, and decommission devices as needed.
- Document recurring IT processes and help improve workflows for support, onboarding, offboarding, and asset management.
- Support IT projects, operational improvements, and process enhancements as the Company scales.
Minimum requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or junior systems administration.
- Experience supporting end users in a business environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including user and license management.
- Familiarity with Windows laptops, hardware troubleshooting, and basic device setup and configuration.
- Experience with onboarding, offboarding, account provisioning, or device lifecycle tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-service mindset and willingness to support users with varying levels of technical comfort.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Entra ID administration.
- Experience with endpoint or device management tools such as Intune, Action1, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with basic security and access control best practices.
- Experience maintaining laptop, equipment, or IT asset inventory.
- Exposure to SharePoint, Teams administration, and Exchange Online.
- Experience working in a small or growing company where IT team members wear multiple hats.
