Job Summary
IT Engineer is a member of the core IT Engineering team responsible for providing digital signage solutions to clients. IT Engineers are expected to design and create secured windows/Linux images to leverage a comprehensive digital signage deployment. IT Engineers are depth in troubleshooting and recommending fixes for client networks and can think creatively to push a project to the finish line. As part of the IT Engineering team, you’ll collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot any escalations along the way. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Expert in navigating Windows 10 + 11, Linux, and other OS' alongside a thorough understanding of windows IOT versions, feature sets, and sunset schedules.
- Ability to configure + write comprehensive documentation for setting up network switches, routers, WAPs, and various IT equipment.
- Comfortable creating high level network diagrams and presenting complex IT solutions in a manner digestible to all audience levels
- Seasoned in opening PC’s, identifying internal components of PC’s, and strong hardware installation knowledge.
- Ability to coordinate with hardware vendors and spec out IT hardware appropriate for a client solution.
- Can work independently.
- Responding to escalations from service desk teams and driving resolutions with clear root cause analysis to avoid or minimize future escalations.
Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A+, Net +, Security +, or any CompTIA certifications highly desirable
- Cloud experience highly desirable
- Some programming knowledge and/or ability to read code
- Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position.
- Knowledge of MS Office 365 is desired
Competencies, Skills and Experiences
- Advanced hardware knowledge
- Proficient is scripting and or able to modify scripts
- Intermediate networking knowledge.
- Intermediate knowledge of security protocols, IT systems, and client server communication
- A+ Certification / Network+ / Security+
- Detailed oriented, independent, self-starter
- Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to analyze issues
- High level of problems solving and comfortable driving problems to resolutions given high level of ambiguity
- Ability to troubleshoot remotely
- Comfortable presenting information during meetings
- Previous experience using Active Directory/Windows Deployment Services/Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/Content Management System preferred
Decision Making Authority
- Resolves routine infrastructure and system issues within defined procedures Implements configuration changes and maintenance tasks within established guidelines
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and tools Escalates complex technical issues, risks, or outages to senior engineers or leadership Supports adherence to IT standards, policies, and service levels
- Ability to draft cohesive email or IM communication to adjacent internal teams
- Ability to speak confidently on client calls and level set with project managers and account executive teams to ensure a proper client need is met
