SUMMARY

The Director of Information Technology (IT) is a strategic, hands -on technology leadership role that 
will provide the vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology 
initiatives that align with the mission of Trident Construction while enhancing the teammate and 
client experience. This role is responsible for all aspects of Trident Construction’s information 
technology and systems.


The Director of IT is responsible for executing our current day to day IT infrastructure while leading 
Trident through the next phase of our digital evolution including cloud platforms and emerging 
AI-driven capabilities while ensuring our systems remain reliable, secure, and practical. This role also 
balances short-term execution with long -term, future focused planning.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS 


STRATEGIC & HANDS -ON LEADERSHIP
• Balance long -term strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up sleeves and execute 
operational work in a lean, fast-growing environment.
• Anticipate organizational needs and design scalable IT programs that support growth.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships at all levels of the organization, including leaders and 
those in the field.


ACQUISITION & DEPLOYMENT
• Coordinate and facilitate consultation with leadership to define business and system 
requirements for technology implementations.
• Approve, prioritize, and manage IT projects and the overall technology portfolio.
• Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts; pursue master 
agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
• Own IT budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and renewals; negotiate vendor contracts and 
licensing to optimize cost and reduce risk.
• Define and communicate organizational policies, standards, and best practices for acquiring, 
implementing, and operating IT systems

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
• Ensure continuous delivery, reliability, and performance of IT services and systems.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
• Maintain current knowledge of IT trends, tools, pricing, and emerging technologies; advise 
leaders on business and financial impacts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, partners, and service providers.
DIGITAL STRATEGY, INNOVATION & FUTURE READINESS
• Develop and execute a forward -looking digital and IT roadmap supporting organizational 
growth.
• Identify and responsibly adopt automation and AI -enabled tools to improve productivity, 
workflows, and decision -making.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate emerging technologies that create competitive advantage 
while remaining practical and user -focused


DATA, AI & INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS ENABLEMENT
• Own enterprise security, privacy, and risk management across all IT systems.
• Establish policies and guardrails for responsible AI usage, data governance, and system access.
• Build foundational capabilities including strong data structure, secure integrations, and 
scalable cloud architecture.
• Explore and pilot AI use cases such as knowledge management, workflow automation, 
reporting, and predictive insights.


SECURITY, DATA GOVERNANCE & INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS ENABLEMENT
• Own enterprise security and risk management across IT systems, including identity and access 
(MFA, access reviews), endpoint standards, patching, vulnerability management, and security 
awareness.
• Ensure resiliency through backup strategy, disaster recovery planning/testing, and 
documented incident response procedures.
• Establish practical data governance and collaboration standards (e.g., SharePoint/Teams 
lifecycle, permissions, retention practices as applicable).
• Build secure integrations and scalable architecture to support reporting, workflows, and future 
application needs.
• Identify, pilot, and operationalize automation/AI use cases with clear guardrails and 
measurable value (e.g., knowledge management, workflow automation, reporting).


PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & SUPERVISION
• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team; oversee recruitment, performance management, and 
retention.
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture aligned with company values.
• Set clear expectations and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and budget guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or 
equivalent experience).
• 8–10+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including leadership roles.
• Proven ability to balance IT strategy with hands -on execution.
• Strong experience with enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud -based systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft environments, including: 
o Microsoft 365
o SharePoint (design, migration, governance)
o Teams and collaboration tools
• Demonstrated experience managing LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and security 
controls.
• Solid understanding of project management principles and end -to-end system delivery.
• In office role with periodic job site visits
