Position Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for Windows-based computers and servers. This role provides on-site and remote technical support to clients, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Windows desktops, laptops, and servers (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025)
- Perform routine maintenance including updates, patching, and system health checks
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 issues
- Respond to support tickets and provide timely resolution to end-user issues
- Install, configure, and deploy hardware, software, and peripherals
- Document all service activity, solutions, and client interactions in the ticketing and documentation systems
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding of users and devices
- Support cybersecurity best practices including endpoint protection and patch management
Requirements
Location: Columbus, Bloomington, client sites
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-time
Availability: Immediate
What We Are Looking For:
- 1+ years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs, switches, routers)
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites
Preferred:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certification
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Familiarity with remote support tools and PSA/RMM platforms
- PowerShell scripting experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation for on-site client visits
