Field IT Engineer (Texas & Louisiana)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Field IT Engineer’s role is to ensure the effective IT operations of field locations in alignment with Republic Services’ business objectives. The incumbent will plan, coordinate and implement IT-related activities and projects according to company standards. The Field IT Engineer maintains a strong relationship with field management and staff as well as the responsibility for communicating technology plans and issues between IT management and field locations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide effective level two support for WANs, LANs, field servers and specific field applications including on-call and on-site support/remediation as required.
• Act as an effective liaison between field staff, management, vendors and Corporate IT.
• Identify, implement and report proactive solutions that provide cost savings and/or improve operational efficiencies at field locations.
• Participate in the installation, replacement, disposal of field computer hardware.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure at field locations.
• Troubleshoot and administer Cisco VOIP phone system installations including user add, changes and moves. Coordinate with 3rd party consultants as required.
• Build, maintain and manage strong vendor relationships to coordinate the delivery of IT services including cabling, hardware, software and other IT supplies.
• Provide timely reports on all activities as directed by management.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4 years of computer network experience.
• Experience with Cisco VOIP/UCCE.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on network experience.

Travel Requirements: This role requires up to 75% travel within the assigned territory, which includes South Texas and Louisiana.

Work Schedule: Candidates can expect to travel approximately three days per week and will have the flexibility to work remotely from home on non-travel days.

Sustainability Innovation

Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.

The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.

Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need. Republic is committed to harnessing landfill gas, a natural byproduct of decomposing waste, and converting it to energy. Republic has partnered with renewable gas developers to construct Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants at our landfills, expanding beyond the 77 projects we currently have to make progress towards our goal to beneficially reuse 50% more biogas by 2030 (2017 baseline year).
