Job Summary:
Hog Slat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of equipment and turnkey facilities to the swine and poultry industries, is seeking a Computer Support Technician to provide advanced network and basic server support, based out of our Humboldt, Iowa office
Primary Job Functions:
Primary Job Functions:
- Assists in the installation of all hardware, software, wiring and equipment.
- Diagnoses and fixes computer hardware and driver-related problems, including but not limited to problems related to malfunctioning hard drives, network cards, power supplies, and video cards and other computer subsystems and parts.
- Performs basic Windows server functions in an Active Directory environment.
- Administer Phone Communication Systems.
- Provides support to cell and smart phone users.
- Maintain and troubleshoot WAN and VPN connections between sites. Cisco switches and routers experience is a plus.
- Support remote users over Windows Remote Desktop environment.
- Sets up, configures and maintains network components like switches and routers, and peripherals. Installs or reinstalls operating system, device drivers and application programs using replication software.
- Monitors performance of network health directly or by using remote monitoring software.
- Reviews machine performance, error logs and utilization information to determine cause of failures or performance degradation.
- Performs preventative maintenance on system hardware and software.
- Repairs, reconfigures or replaces defective or under-performing workstations, CD-burners, cards, CPU’s, drives, cables or motherboards.
- Works with the IT Operations team members to resolve network problems caused by defective data or applications programs and communicate relevant issues to management.
- Maintains records of networked hardware and system configurations.
- Establishes or maintains electronic mail services for employees.
- Assists in maintaining inventory of IT equipment.
- Monitors workstations for viruses or other destructive behaviors.
- Downloads and installs new virus signature files as needed.
- Tracks internal user support issues/needs, asset management, system updates, and support trends through the use of Help desk tracking software, MS Office tools, and other products. Documents resolutions.
- Travel to other Company locations as required.
