Position Summary:
Comtech is seeking a qualified Computer Network Support Specialist to provide second-tier support to end-users' PC, servers, mainframe applications, and hardware. The candidate handles problems that the first-tier of help desk support cannot resolve. The candidate may interact with network services, software system engineering, and/or application development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. The candidate maintains currency and a high level of technical skill in the field of expertise. The candidate will be required to work under direct supervision, with a spirit of cooperation, and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while demonstrating the drive and critical thinking to excel.
Responsibilities:
This position will perform the following duties:
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks.
- Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
- Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems.
Qualifications:
All candidates will have the following minimum skills:
- Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles (ITIL), and security practices.
- Ability to coordinate and execute operational requirements with minimal oversight.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
- Must possess interpersonal skills required to communicate with the customer and other team members effectively and tactfully.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with diverse audiences, internally and externally, to foster strong teamwork.
- Work well independently or as a member of a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
All candidates will have the following education/experience:
- Preferred MA/MS degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years of recent specialized experience
- CompTIA Security+ (required)
- Experience in maintaining certifications related to the requirements of the position
In lieu of a BA/BS degree, all candidates will have the following education/experience:
- BA/BS degree
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of recent experience

- Must have an active Secret Clearance.

The pay range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Final compensation will be based on role, level, skills, experience, and geographic location.
