About the Role
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Come work at Amazon! Innovation is part of our DNA! Our goal is to be Earth's most customer centric company, and we are just getting started. We seek professionals who are eager to join an ambitious project that continues to push the state of the art in satellite system design, verification test, and operations.
We are looking for a Avionics Test Engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun, and make a positive impact on tens of millions of people.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with key stakeholders across hardware and software development teams to define test strategy and requirements.
• Define electrical component and subsystem test plans as needed to ensure robust electrical designs for space applications.
• Support the planning and execution of design verification test, qualification, reliability, and production test campaigns for avionics subsystems.
• Support the various aspects of the test engineering team through test system architecture, equipment selection, PCB design, harness design, test system build and integration, and test system commissioning and delivery to customers.
• Lead test system design reviews, test plan reviews, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, reliability, manufacturing, program management, etc.
A day in the life
