Associate Network Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate Network Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this entry-level, individual contributor role, you will perform day-to-day network duties under the guidance of our Senior Network Engineers, gaining hands-on experience with Cirrascale's SD-WAN, multi-homed internet edge, cloud interconnect infrastructure, and the InfiniBand fabrics that power our AI and HPC workloads. You will also serve as the escalation bridge between our NOC and Engineering teams, helping to resolve L2 network issues alongside NOC technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the escalation bridge between our NOC and Engineering teams, working alongside NOC technicians to troubleshoot and help resolve L2 network issues, escalating complex issues to Senior Network Engineers when needed.
• Perform day-to-day network duties under the guidance of Senior Network Engineers, assisting with the configuration and maintenance of SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, and switching/routing environments.
• Support the deployment of InfiniBand fabrics for GPU cluster infrastructure under the direction of senior team members.
• Help maintain network telemetry and BGP monitoring systems, learning to recognize routing anomalies, traffic shifts, and DDoS conditions.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues following established runbooks and escalation procedures.
• Participate in incident response for internet edge events and contribute to postmortem documentation.
• Support the buildout of new infrastructure within our GPU cloud platform.
• Maintain network documentation, including topologies, IP allocations, and configurations.
• Assist with data center bringups, hardware upgrades, and capacity planning.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in network engineering, network operations support, or related infrastructure roles.
• Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 networking concepts; exposure to BGP, OSPF, or ECMP is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Arista, SONiC, Fortinet) through work, labs, or coursework.
• Basic exposure to network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana).
• Interest in learning network automation using Ansible, Python, or similar tools; basic scripting experience is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud and virtualization concepts (Proxmox, k8s, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to document work clearly, provide status updates, and communicate issues cross-functionally.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, seek feedback, and apply learnings to grow your craft.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support.

Salary Range

The base salary range for the Associate Network Engineer is $85,000 to $125,000.  This pay range reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay range for this job for the location for which it has been posted. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
